Corazon del Rio is located in the quiet mountain village of Platanillo in the Southern Pacific Region of Costa Rica. Located at a 1200 foot elevation that is cooler in temperature than the coastal beach areas that are just a quick fifteen minute drive away. Get to know this little secret location a bit better! Just one mile away, the small village has two grocery stores, a bakery, among other shops, services and restaurants. A weekly farmer's market is just ten minutes up the road. One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, the Nauyaca Waterfall is just a short five minute drive down the road. Not far to the east is Tinamaste, home of the Diamante Waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica. Further east is San Isidro, the second largest city in Costa Rica and to the west of Platanillo is the small surf town of Dominical. From there, a 45 minute drive north you can visit Manuel Antonio National Park which borders the harbor town of Quepos.
A twenty minute drive south of Dominical is Uvita, home of the famous Whale Tail.
