The La Ceiba River extends down from the top of the property to the swim hole then bends down to the bottom half of the property, along the wooded forest area. Take a beautiful hike, find a peaceful small water hole to wade in or maybe even find some fresh water shrimp. Plenty of river area to explore! The options of Whitewater Rafting Rivers in Costa Rica are just about endless. From the North to the South of Costa Rica there are valleys with incredible rivers. Some of these rivers are reserved only for very experienced or professional kayakers traveling the world to find the best rivers.
Rio Savegre is a great river to raft all year long. During the dry season in December, January, and February it has a lower water level but is still a lot of fun. The Savegre River is one of the more famous rivers of this region. From strong class IV sections to more calm class II sections, this river really has it all. Stop on the side of the river to indulge in a waterfall massage session, eat fresh pineapple on the side of the river, and admire the lush rainforest on both sides of the river
Rio Naranjo is located just northwest of Rio Savegre, and covers about 50 miles (80 km) of stunning terrain. Originating at the foothills of the Talamanca Mountain Range, the river dips and dives through tight canyon passageways before meeting the Pacific coast east of Quepos. The river plunges steeply from the coastal mountain range, passing farmland, palm plantations and primary and secondary forests. It then makes some aggressive maneuvers through tight, rocky canyons, making this a fantastic river for white water rafting excursions. The Naranjo River boasts class III and IV rapids, a few of which are described as "unrelenting gorges" that will challenge even the most experienced rafters. But inexperienced paddlers shouldn’t shy away from this scenic river as long as they are up for a challenge. Rio Guabo is the closest rafting river to Platanillo. It can only be run during the rainy season as it becomes to dry to raft from December to May. If you want to raft the Rio Guabo, plan your trip from June to November and you will have a great time. The Rio Guabo is a beautiful river that is between Dominical and San Isidro del General. This river has beautiful canyons and a great deal of wildlife.

Rio General is one of the largest rivers in all of Costa Rica. It features very big waves that are a lot of fun with higher water levels. The Rio General is also close to Playa and very close to San Isidro del General (15 minutes). On the Rio General you can do 3 day river trips camping alongside the river (a very cool experience immersed in nature).
