We are surrounded by amazing waterfalls!
Within hiking distance from our cascading Corazon del Rio Waterfall (right) are the beautiful El Tronco,  La Sota, La Raiz and Las Piedras waterfalls (below). Our neighbor at La Ceiba EcoAdventures provides hikes to each of them.

Just a short five minute drive west is the Nauyaca waterfall trailhead, this is one of the most beautiful waterfals Costa Rica. A twelve kilometer drive from town (on a dirt road) are Chontales and Rana Roja waterfalls (below).

A fifteen minute drive east are the Diamonte Waterfalls (below). We are so fortunate to be so close to all of these waterfalls that each have their own special characteristics and are simply amazing! Platanillo truly lives up to it's name... "Valley of the Waterfalls"
These first four waterfalls below are within hiking distance from Casa Corazon del Rio,
the bottom four are just a short drive away.

Pozo Azul:

5 minutes south of Dominical is Pozo Azul (the blue hole). It is reached after turning into the small town of Dominicalito. You take the right of the Y and just a bit further there are stairs on your right bringing you down to a beautiful little area. Swing off the rope and into the refreshing waters, but use caution and be aware of the shallow waters that surround the swimming hole.

Ascada Verde:
25 minutes south of Dominical in Uvita. There are a couple of different water pools that are more shallow and the main fall is deep and has a quick drop off where people can jump in, or cliff dive. There is a natural water slide. The stairs down are in good shape.
As soon as you reach Uvita turn left before the band and BM market. follow signs for Cascada Verde. Admission is 500 colones per person, the trail to get to the falls is obvious and takes about 5 minutes.
Pavon:
35 minutes south of Dominical you'll find Pavon Waterfall five minutes outside of Ojochal. There is a swimming hole and several levels of smaller pools. A big rock wedged between the two sides of the mountain. Its quite a beautiful site! There is a pathway to see the falls from the top (weekend crowds)
